H-1B registration extension FY2025 – Important Update

H-1B registration extension FY2025 Introduction: In response to a temporary system outage experienced by some registrants, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS USCIS) has announced an extension of the initial registration period for the fiscal year (FY) 2025 H-1B cap, ensuring fairness and inclusivity in the registration process.

Extended Registration Period: USCIS has extended the initial registration period, originally scheduled to conclude on March 22, 2024, until noon Eastern on March 25, 2024. Prospective petitioners and their representatives are urged to utilize the USCIS online account system to register each beneficiary electronically during this extended timeframe.

Key Procedures: Prospective petitioners and their representatives must use a USCIS online account for each beneficiary during the registration process. Additionally, they must pay the associated registration fee for each beneficiary. USCIS remains committed to notifying selected registrants by March 31, 2024.

New myUSCIS Organizational Accounts: USCIS introduced new myUSCIS organizational accounts on February 28, 2024, to streamline the registration and petition preparation process. . These accounts facilitate collaboration among multiple individuals within an organization and their legal representatives. Participation in the H-1B Electronic Registration Process necessitates the creation of a new organizational account.  For additional information and resources, please review updated information on the Organizational Accounts Frequently Asked Questions page.

Tech Talks Sessions: USCIS initiated Tech Talks sessions in February 2024 to aid organizations and legal representatives in effectively navigating the new process. These sessions serve as an interactive platform where participants can seek clarifications regarding organizational accounts and the online filing of Form I-129 for H-1B petitions. USCIS strongly encourages all stakeholders involved in the H-1B registration and petition filing process to attend these informative sessions.

Conclusion: Furthermore, USCIS’s extension of the H-1B registration period underscores its commitment to ensuring a fair and accessible immigration process. By leveraging online tools such as myUSCIS organizational accounts and participating in Tech Talks sessions, organizations and legal representatives can navigate the registration and petition filing process with confidence and efficiency. For additional information and resources, interested parties are encouraged to explore the updated information available on USCIS’s official platforms.
